SHAWCO Law is thrilled to share the accomplishments and successes of an eventful second term in the first semester. With a focus on innovative teaching methods and a rights-based approach, our dedicated team of volunteers continued their weekly lessons at Bulumko High School and The Leadership College while introducing exciting new initiatives to enhance the program’s impact.

Empowering Education through Creativity:

In line with our commitment to providing comprehensive legal education, we introduced an adapted teaching approach in Term 2. Utilising Theatre and Public Speaking techniques, we aimed to educate our students to the fullest extent of our abilities and create a fun and memorable learning experience. We encouraged our students to engage actively through these methods, fostering their confidence and communication skills.

Rights-Focused Curriculum:

Term 2 witnessed a significant shift toward a rights-focused curriculum, and the results were truly rewarding. An exemplary event titled ‘The Period Talk’ exemplified this approach, addressing the Right to Healthcare. This empowering day allowed young female students to gain essential knowledge and access to feminine hygiene products, empowering them to take charge of their well-being.

Volunteer Dedication and Impact:

The growth and dedication of our volunteers throughout the programme have been nothing short of inspiring. Their commitment to building meaningful relationships with the students has played a vital role in the program’s success. We greatly thank the volunteers and the SHAWCO team for their invaluable contributions and unwavering support.

Term 2 Recap:

Term 2 highlighted the multidimensional nature of the law beyond statutes and case law. By broadening our students’ perspectives, we instilled a sense of hope and possibility for their future. We witnessed the expansion of their eyes, souls, and aspirations, fostering a belief in their potential for success.

Looking Ahead:

As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming term, we are excited to reunite with our students after a well-deserved mid-year break. Our team is committed to building upon the foundation laid in Term 2 and continuing to empower and inspire our students through the power of legal education.

SHAWCO Law is immensely proud of the achievements and progress made in Term 2. We remain dedicated to providing quality legal education, fostering personal growth, and empowering our students to become agents of change. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey as we continue to make a lasting impact in the lives of our students and the communities we serve.
