SHAWCO recently organised a team-building event for its staff, students, and representatives from both the Health and Education sector. The purpose of the event was to bring together individuals from different sectors and portfolios to work on projects together, brainstorm ideas for the future, and get to know each other.

Bringing Together a Diverse Group of Individuals

The event brought together senior leaders from SHAWCO health, education and law, as well as various subcommittees and portfolio heads. These included fundraising, events, monitoring and evaluation, and the social worker student department. This diverse group of individuals represented different areas of SHAWCO and provided a unique exchange of ideas and perspectives.

Promoting Teamwork and Communication

Staff and students participated in various activities and exercises during the team-building event to promote teamwork, communication and leadership. The peaceful surroundings of Goedgedacht farm made it an ideal place for the staff and students to come together and work towards a common goal.

Bonding in a Beautiful Setting

The collaboration was held at a beautiful venue called Goedgedacht, providing the perfect backdrop for the staff and students to bond and work together. The participants took part in hikes, watched the sunrise and sunset, had hip-hop dance lessons, a karaoke competition, and went swimming in the dam, allowing them to connect with nature and bond with each other. 

The Impact of the Team Building Event

The event was a huge success and provided the staff and students at the SHAWCO with a unique opportunity to connect and bond with each other. The various activities and exercises allowed them to work together and build relationships that would last a lifetime. The participants left the event feeling refreshed and energised, ready to tackle the challenges of the academic year ahead.
